
What Is an Adverb of Frequency?
An adverb of frequency tells you how often something happens. Words like “always,” “occasionally,” and “usually” are examples of adverbs of frequency.
Spanish Adverbs of Frequency
Adverbs of frequency work pretty much the same way in English and Spanish, so we don’t need to get into any boring rules here. I’ll just give you a few examples:
1. A menudo – Often
A menudo salgo a correr por las mañanas.
I often go running in the mornings.
2. A veces – Sometimes
A veces, voy al cine los viernes por la noche.
Sometimes, I go to the movies on Friday nights.
3. De Vez en Cuando – Once in a While
De vez en cuando, como pizza.
Once in a while, I eat pizza.
4. Nunca – Never
Nunca he estado en ese país.
I have never been to that country.
5. Siempre – Always
Siempre desayuno a las 7 de la mañana.
I always have breakfast at 7 in the morning.
