¡Hola, amigos! In this post, I’ll give a brief explanation of what an adjective is. At the end of the post, you’ll find a list to help you start learning or refresh your knowledge of Spanish adjectives. Let’s get started!
WHAT IS AN ADJECTIVE?
An adjective is a word that describes a noun (a person, place, animal, or thing). If you need a reminder about what a noun is, click here. For example, words like “big,” “small,” and “happy” are adjectives because they give us more information about a noun, as in “big house.”
In Spanish, adjectives change according to gender and number. This means they adjust depending on whether the noun they describe is masculine or feminine, and whether it is singular (one) or plural (more than one).
