We have a few verbs that are irregular in the simple future.
Remember that in this tense we take the full infinitive to create the conjugations, not only the root. With irregular verbs, we need a “new” infinitive, so to speak. Happily, the endings are regular, like in any other verb.
For example, in the case if the verb decir (to say, to tell), the “infinitive” becomes dir, but the endings are like in any other verb in the simple future. Martina, from Argentina, will read these conjugations for you:
PERSON | CONJUGATION |
---|---|
YO | DIRÉ |
TÚ | DIRÁS |
USTED | DIRÁ |
ÉL/ELLA | DIRÁ |
NOSOTROS/NOSOTRAS | DIREMOS |
USTEDES | DIRÁN |
ELLOS/ELLAS | DIRÁN |
PERSON | CONJUGATION |
---|---|
VOS | DIRÁS |
VOSOTROS/VOSOTRAS | DIRÉIS |
These are the main irregular verbs in the simple future. Martina will read them aloud:
